I don't know what I'd do without the promise of summer. I'm losing my mind with these long afternoons, starting nothing, finishing nothing. I need a something. At least with summer, I'll have my friends to distract me. For now, I am alone. Everybody needs to stop asking about winter formal. I can't go, end of story. I'm ok with it. And it's actually really burning me inside, so just stop asking. I'm losing my mind in this house. I can't stand this slow drifting. My books went in boxes last week and I can't read them. My bookshelves are empty and white. I just want to be done with it. This summer means I'm not grounded, I'm moved, I'm done with junior year, I'm done with AP and SAT II's, I know who is editor next year. just make it.

1. Eh. I know alot of people who laugh and mock you openly and harshly, but I've never really had a problem with you (mainly because we never talk). Perhaps every now and then I mock you too, but only due to my unsurmountable insecurities myself. Mainly the mocker is you-know-who, and sometimes I wonder why you ever liked him.

2. You've been a good recurring character in my overall dramatic scene, as well as a fine addition to my day at school. You're a cool guy, just be a bit less emo and more down to Earth like I know you are. And cut it on the biting remarks, they hurt my feelings.

3. You're really fun, even though you freak out sometimes with all the other girls you hang with. I think you're really cool, and I can see what he likes about you, even if he never calls.

4. Ahhh... you. Well, we're pretty open about our feelings in general, so I don't really see the point of having you on this list, but then it would be an insult to your importance to me. I do care about you alot and hope you're happy, even if we're drifting strangely down this river on two pieces of driftwood. I'm sure one day we'll look back on these strange days as humorous, and I try to act that serious now accordingly. It's weird for me, a phrase I utter constantly, but I hope it doesn't get to you like it does to me sometimes. I accuse you of never empathizing sometimes, but you always sympathize and that's worth something. If you ever need a shoulder, I'm going to be there for you, but I guess I'm just going to sit back for a while.

5. My wingman, the kid who always laughs at my jokes, the manifestation of my superego, my Jiminy Cricket, and competitor in a race I'm not even close to you in. Just be more social once I'm ungrounded and we'll have a ball my friend of friends.

6. OMG, I do not talk with you enough. You completely rock the shit. and that boy you keep talking about so morosely better pull his shit together before I knock his teeth in. Live strong, babe.

7. I stole this from you, so I suppose I HAVE to put you in. gosh. no, you're real fun. and you seem to really have a hold on things. you must be sick of hearing us call you mature for your age, but you never cease to amaze me with your couth. keep on knocking into me in random places and maybe one of them times we'll turn it into a hangout.

8. You'd best call me back sometime, teasemuffin. No no, you're cool alright and everyone knows it, but be more sincere is all the advice I'd give you. You seem really nice but entirely inaccessible sometimes, and I'm intrigued by you.

9. People give you alot of shit, and I admit I do too sometimes. Calm down, take your ego down a couple points, dont always assume you're right, And there will be joy! We joke around alot of the times and you're into the same stuff as me, so I'd be unhesitant to call you a friend, but not an awesome friend.

10. I wish I hadn't fucked up as much as I did when it came to our friendship, because you're one of the most outstanding people I know. In fact, you need to mellow down some before you break yourself. You can't get all into all your extracurriculars and get all fussy about your relationships and be valedictorian. It just ain't possible. So I say screw all of it and just relax.

11. I guess I'll mention you too. Ahem. You're awkward and think you're funnier than you really are. Alright, now that that's out of the way, you're a really good guy. I really like talking to you seriously sometimes to. You have a right head on alot of things and I really respect that. We should be better friends for realz.

12. I know our friendship has been down some fucked up roads but we're doing alright now it seems. You really seem alot more down-to-earth and mellow than you once were, and I'm sure this is due to your rather recent lifestyle changes and I think its great that you're really happy. You really seem to be getting along fine now and you're a real kickass person to hang out with. We should do that again sometime.

13. I'm really sad our paths seemed to diverge some time ago. I thought you were really nice, but even though I should have known you better and not done some of the things I did, I don't regret any of it strangely. You seem happy now from our brief encounters and I'm glad and I hope you still don't hold a grudge.

14. You're pretty attractive to me physically, but I'll admit you kindof bore me. You seem nice from our rare conversations though.

15. I'm really glad we've finalyl achieved armistice after that long cold war. You probably never thought much about me, but I felt guilty the whole time. And I'm glad that I can hang out with not only for the other parties involved, but you as well. I regret not having spent more time with you before and hope maybe we can do something this summer.

Too much guitar hero. I play "crazy on you" in my sleep, which, incidentally, strikes while I'm trying to read right after school. Guess I'm not sleeping enough.
National Honor Society is a face. I have to bullshit a full essay on service. I guess I've just about donated cans and blood. that's it. I'm never going to make it.
Leadership is only slightly less screwed. I'll just devote a full paragraph to my vice-presidency at Model UN. or two.

there's a stadium behind a house about half a block down Cleveland. It's E.H. Crump Stadium to be exact and looks like concrete slabs with giant versions of those moth killing machines people display on their porches as stadium lights. I forget its there every year until they turn those lights one night for practice, either for the team or the band, which supplies a constant drum beat to every dream i have up until 1 am. I arrived at home just only minutes before now and saw a strange shadow on the building opposite my house. I shouldn't say shadow because shadows are all the night is. It was the white light where the shadows couldn't reach that perturbed my in-and-out from my car to my house, a ritual of park, parking brake, key turn, iPod off, iPod into glove compartment to avoid the sighting of the friendly neighboorhood vandals, door open, left foot out, grab bag from passenger seat, right foot, long pause before touching door, door shocks me (no longer a shock after 2 years), door closes... and it continues from there with a certain foot rhythm up the 2 steps, straight path of 8 yards, 3 steps, 4 yards, step, door, key (don't make me get into the key, a technique of tact to be sure, so unforgiving that I'm sure if a thief took my key and attempted the door, he would fail).
All this science to be halted by a difference of luminosity on a house that's not even mine. I find expressed a bafflement. I attempted to trace the beams to the moon or the next door neighbor's front door light. It took me almost a full minute to glace beyond my house and into the high watt generators screaming like decapitating heads sitting on iron pikes.
And then I felt nothing of it. The wonder, gone. The answer, found. Then I realized non sequiters dominated my everyday existence. Little patches of wonder and disappointment taking away from what really plagues me. Side tracks of little quests of environment and conversation distracting me from ultimate power. Perhaps I would be God if I had some diligence. I would focus on my lifesaving routine. 8 yards, 3 steps, 4 yards, step, door, key. Any slower would expose me to too much time on the street, vulnerable to the world around me. Any faster and I am vulnerable to my own failings, fallings. Calculated over time to maximize safety and resources. I am master of my realm. Door to Door.
Until some goddamn stadium lights throw me off, and I'm nothing more a pedestrian. A street walker. Potential roadkill to the whims of Bacchus, God of Drunk drivers.
I'm no safety-phobiac. But there's something to be said about time. When doing one thing everyday over time, something you can find no pride in, you just do it to the best of your ability to do something mundane. In other words, you just do it. The same way. Everyday. Until the Apocalypse.
I don't know why this is bothering me. I don't fear change. I just don't need it. I criticize someone last night for their desire to never leave Memphis because they don't want things to change. I called them silly.
I'll miss her so much. I don't want things to change here. I'm happy here. 8 step, door, key, 5 fuck. I'm losing my world already.
Turn off the lights.

If you fill a bath tub with the hottest water possible and little by little (after about half an hour of waiting) lower yourself in (takes about 20 minutes), your skin turns white and livid. If you remove any limb, it turns red and burns, but if you keep it in the there, you can't even feel the water. don't move because your nerves will feel it. really, my water heater is cheap so I'm thinking the water was about 110 degrees, so not scalding, just dehydrating. Your skin turns nigh malleable but doesnt burn, just melts. It's almost like your nerves die. Eventually, you will have trouble breathing because of dehydration. you should get out then.

well, i got a 210 on the PSAT. Between every syllable of "congratulations" from my mother was an inaudible disappointed sigh you can only hear after you spend nine months in her womb. After you do that, you'll can't help but hear it everyday. The treble chord of disillusionment that her son is not a national merit semifinalist just higher than the glass-shattering cry of guilt and just a half-step down from the heavenly tone of actual acceptance in how smart her breed actually is. The last of which no recording has been made and is generally regarded as urban myth.

Well, i wasn't feeling to schnazzy today. So, I smashed an old wooden bench, three flower pots, a rabbit cage, and a car grill in my backyard with a baseball bat now smeared with green smudges and orange dust.
I went to the SMS christmas concert and that made it better.
Either way, I'm not terribly grateful that I didn't die from a near collision with an O2 cannister in the middle of the road. Not because I'm morbid and wanted to die, but merely because I didn't want to consider my mortality in the first place, or second place after not making the BTD Christmas concert, which hiltonsmith has apologized three times over and everytime it makes me that makes more angry. Like I really needed my mother's guilt today.
So, it's been a bad day.
